Northwell Health-GoHealth Urgent Care opened a new center at 600 North Wellwood Ave. in Lindenhurst this week.

The location is the 56th Northwell Health-GoHealth Urgent Care center in the New York metropolitan area. Several additional centers are expected to open in the weeks and months ahead.

“Increasingly, people are seeking convenient, affordable and high-quality healthcare options,” Vivek Taparia, market president of Northwell Health-GoHealth Urgent Care, said in a statement.

“Whether you’re a resident of Lindenhurst, Babylon, Amityville, or just passing through the area, our centers are here for you,” he added. “We provide communities throughout the New York metropolitan area with on-demand urgent care that is convenient and connected to the patient’s overall health and wellness journey.”

The Lindenhurst location is the first of two Northwell Health-GoHealth Urgent Care centers to open this winter, with a second scheduled to open next in Lake Success. Additional locations are expected to open in the region in 2023.

The center expands access to care to the community, outside of higher-cost settings like the emergency department. It also provides patients with a direct connection to Northwell Health network.

“We are thrilled to be in Lindenhurst,” Adam Boll, senior vice president of Strategic Business Initiatives at Northwell Health, said in a statement.

“In opening this center, we are demonstrating our commitment deliver convenient, immediate, and high quality care in the communities in which our patients live and work,” he added. “And with Northwell’s breadth of expertise and extensive range of services, we can seamlessly connect patients to specialists as needed.”

The center offers treatment for non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries, on-site X-ray services and COVID-19 testing. Healthcare providers there can also prescribe and fill COVID-19 oral antiviral treatments if clinically indicated after evaluation.  It also offers sports physicals for kids and flu vaccines.

The center is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Patients can visit any Northwell Health-GoHealth Urgent Care center or save a spot by pre-registering online.

Those needing “follow-up care can be conveniently referred directly to one of our specialists, which makes the care experience seamless,” Taparia said. “Information from patients’ visits to our urgent care facilities is easily accessible to our providers during subsequent visits.”
