St. Francis Hospital & Heart Center is the subject of a new streaming video series.

The series is created by Mediflix, an integrated streaming video health platform and counts Cleveland  Clinic, Yale Medicine, Northwell Health among others as clients.

“The Heart of St. Francis” series focuses on the facility’s cardiac care programs in the nation, starting in the emergency department.

Throughout five episodes, the series looks at  the frontline of interventional cardiology, including the emotional journey of navigating cardiac care.

“We were given unprecedented access and trust in the making of this show,” Steven Nathan, who directed and edited the video, said in a statement. “We captured some truly incredible and inspiring stories and worked hard to present them with the utmost respect they deserve.”

“Steven and his team did an amazing job highlighting the people who make St. Francis a special place to Long Islanders and a world leader in cardiac care,”  St. Francis Hospital President Dr.. Charles Lucore, said in a statement.

“My years in entertainment taught me that you have to connect emotionally with the viewer and listener if you want to get a message across – and this couldn’t be truer for health care,” Steve Leber, founder of Mediflix said in a statement.

“My vision in starting Mediflix was to give the same excitement and intrigue that motivates us to watch a movie or download a song – what’s interesting and transports us emotionally, but packed with meaningful information and events that combat disease and build a bridge to wellness,” he added.

The series is available online. It had its premiere at Tilles Center for the Performing Arts in Brookville last week.
