However, keep in mind that your local bank and post office will also be closed on Monday, December 26th. Why? Because federal holidays that fall on a Sunday are usually observed on the following Monday. This ensures that employees are given a true day off to rest and enjoy the holiday with their families. Government offices operate the same way, so they’ll be closed on December 25th and December 26th as well.
Stock and Bond Markets
If you have some trades you need to make before the end of the year for tax reasons, you may be wondering if the stock and bond markets are open on Christmas.
