The Town of Brookhaven Industrial Development Agency has closed on a package of economic incentives for a $33.8 million warehouse project proposed by a Manhattan-based developer.
WF Industrial XIII LLC, an affiliate of Wildflower Ltd., plans to build a 129,242-square-foot warehouse and distribution complex on 10 acres of vacant land at 645 National Blvd. in Medford.
The project will take about 12 months to complete and is expected to create 40 full-time jobs and five part-time positions, according to an IDA statement. The proposed building will have 36-foot-clear ceilings, 50-foot column spacing, 24 loading docks and four drive-in bays.
Cushman & Wakefield is currently marketing the leasing of the Medford logistics development.
“This project will bring warehouse and distribution space with modern specifications such as high ceilings, heavy floor load capacity, wide column spacing and substantial electric services to a thriving industrial park in our town that in turn will bring new tenants, perhaps from outside of our immediate area, creating new jobs and economic opportunities,” Fred Braun, Brookhaven IDA chairman, said in the statement.
Meanwhile, the Brookhaven IDA has scheduled a public hearing for next week on another project proposed by Wildflower. The developer is seeking economic incentives to assist in acquiring 71.45 acres in Yaphank and build a 549,942-square-foot warehouse and distribution center.
The proposed project would be built on about 42 acres of the site located just west of Sills Road on the north side of the Long Island Expressway.
