Siobhan Miller and her husband Stephen Vitale are two of the franchisees planning to bring the brand’s boxing-inspired workout studios to Nassau County, with their first one slated to open in March at RXR’s Village Square mixed-use development in Glen Cove.

The couple, who grew up on Long Island, are fitness enthusiasts. Vitale played lacrosse, soccer and basketball in high school, while Miller was a cheerleader.

Like many franchisees, Miller was first a client of Rumble before taking the plunge to become an owner.

A few years ago, Miller brought Vitale to one of the chain’s locations in Manhattan.

“I got him to go and he liked it,” she said. “Rumble is the first workout that we enjoyed doing together.”

Both franchisees have business backgrounds. Miller worked for American Express in Manhattan before moving to California, where she earned a master’s degree in Entrepreneurship and Innovation from the University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business.

Vitale worked in facilities management for eight years at clothing firm Eileen Fisher before partnering with Miller as a Rumble franchisee.

“I think this is going to be great for Long Island, bringing a luxury boutique fitness brand like Rumble for people of all genders and identifications,” Vitale said.

The franchisees, who have a three-studio deal, plan to open two additional Rumble locations in Nassau.

Founded in 2017, Rumble began in Manhattan’s Chelsea neighborhood and has since expanded into cities across the country including Los Angeles, Denver, Washington D.C., Philadelphia, San Francisco, Chicago, Las Vegas and Tempe, Ariz. Rumble delivers 45-minute, 10-round, full-body strength and conditioning workouts crafted around water-filled, teardrop boxing bags and split evenly between boxing and resistance training.

Unlimited Rumble memberships at the Village Square studio will be offered for $209 a month, but Miller said a discounted founding membership rate is currently available on a first-come, first-served basis. There will also be a drop-in rate of $29 per class.

Rumble is one of several franchise concepts under the umbrella of Xponential Fitness, an Irvine, Calif.-based franchisor which has 10 boutique brands in its portfolio, including Stretch Lab, Club Pilates, AKT, Yoga Six, Pure Barre, Cyclebar, Row House and others.

Daniel Glazer of RIPCO Real Estate is the exclusive broker for Xponential Fitness brands and represented Rumble in the 3,355-square-foot Glen Cove lease, while Glazer and his RIPCO colleague Jason Sobel have been representing landlord RXR in leasing all of the 15,617 square feet of retail space in the Village Square development.

Village Square is now fully leased, with a Chase bank branch and Trubee Hill gift shop already open. Besides Rumble, tenants soon to open at Village Square include Tocolo Cantina, Tropical Smoothie Café and a pharmacy.

Miller said she was attracted to the Glen Cove property and thought it would be a great place to introduce the Rumble concept here.

“There are so many transplants from the city at Garvies Point and Village Square,” Miller said. “We want to bring the brand to as many people as we can, but we also want to bring it to people who already know and love it.”

Glazer is also representing two other Rumble franchisees, Chris Cusanelli and Michael Singer, who are planning to open a 3,000-square-foot studio in the Plainview Centre retail complex on South Oyster Bay Road in the first quarter of next year. Like Miller and Vitale, Cusanelli and Singer also have a three-studio development deal in Nassau.
