Ruhof Corporation, a maker of surgical cleaning solutions, has purchased a Hauppauge industrial property for $7.1 million.

The company bought the 40,645-square-foot building on 2 acres at 114 Parkway Drive S.

The property had been owned by an affiliate of SUSA Soccer Academy, which operates an indoor sports complex there. For now, SUSA will lease and occupy about half of the building, while Ruhof, which also owns a 15,500-square-foot building in Mineola, will occupy the other half.

Ruhof was founded in 1976 with the development of Protozyme, an enzymatic detergent for surgical instruments, and Surgistain for refurbishing corroded stainless steel instruments. Since then, the company has developed more products that clean and reprocess surgical instruments and scopes.

Greg Picker of Industry One Realty represented the buyer, while Howard Nemshin of Atlantic Properties represented the seller, Brothers Duo 2 LLC, in the sales transaction.
