The 3,500-square-foot quick-service eatery, located on 1 acre at 2250 N. Ocean Ave., was closed from the beginning of October until it reopened the last week of December.

Port Washington-based Burger Brothers Restaurant Group, owned and operated by the Froccaro family, spent about $1.8 million to transform the Farmingville Burger King into the chain’s new pavilion design, including handcrafted finishes and natural wood textures.

“We weren’t contractually obligated to remodel that store, but we felt it was a good opportunity to introduce this new store design to the community,” said John Froccaro, who along with his brother Jeff, heads the franchising group.

The Froccaros have a long relationship with the Burger King chain. John and Jeff Froccaro’s father James was a former Burger King executive who opened his first burger joint 40 years ago in Port Washington.

Today, Burger Brothers owns and operates 33 Burger King restaurants located throughout Nassau and Suffolk counties, Brooklyn, Queens and the Bronx. The franchisees also own eight Qdoba Mexican Eats restaurants in the area.

While the Farmingville Burger King is the first on Long Island to be upgraded with the new design, it won’t be the last.

“We are planning to remodel additional Long Island stores with the new design in the next few years,” said John Froccaro. “We’ve been very pleased with the response from our guests.”
