Safety Shuttles stops at breweries, winery and eateries

A new hospitality shuttle is transporting customers to such destinations as breweries, a winery and eateries.

The year-round weekend service runs through Oceanside, Island Park and Long Beach, which boasts a thriving brewery scene.

The concept is called Safety Shuttles, which is backed by Oceanside-based Insieme Wines’ owners Massimo and Jessica DeVellis and Joesph and Ghislane  Divino. They sought to collaborate with other like-minded business owners to launch a service that helps customers safely visit the various establishments and enjoy the various spots throughout the community – bringing more foot traffic and dollars to the community.

Safety Shuttles runs a “Tours & Pours” shuttle van stopping at the Oceanside Long Island Railroad Station, Long Beach Brewing Company, South Shore Craft Brewery, Bright Eye Beer Company, Dox Bar & Kitchen and Insieme Wines & Tasting Room.

Through the Tours & Pours app, customers can access shuttle tracking in real time, so they can map out their day. Shuttles arrive at each approved location approximately every hour to pick-up or drop off customers.

“As customers of these local businesses, we saw an immediate need for a way to safely get around while enjoying these multiple venues,” Massimo DeVellis said in a statement.

“As business owners, we saw an opportunity to band together to create something special,” he added. “Safety Shuttles casts a wide net. We hope to garner customers from Queens and Brooklyn and towns accessible from the LIRR as well as customers within walking distance from the stops along the way.”

The shuttle runs Saturdays from 1-9 p.m. and Sundays from 12-8 p.m. Day passes are available for $10.
